What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular aesthetic treatment used to significantly reduce the movement of the muscles causing expression lines (dynamic lines) in particular, the frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead expression lines.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescribed drug called Botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin can only be prescribed during a face-to-face consultation by a qualified medical practitioner with a prescribing qualification.
This treatment has little to no down time.

Is it painful?

There is minimal discomfort during this treatment because the needle used for this treatment is extremely small.

What are the risks associated with Botulinum toxin?

A headache can occur up to 24 hours post procedure.

Bruising, Swelling and redness where the injection points are.

If too much product is injected you can loose complete movement in your muscles.

Temporary weakness in the muscle leading to eyebrow or eyelid droop.

Very rarely burred or double vision when the eyes are treated or breathing difficulties if the neck is injected.
When will I see results?

Results can be seen from 2-3 days with the optimum result in 2 weeks.
How long will the effects of Botulinum toxin last?

The effects last up to 3-4 months.
How often can I have the treatment?
​
Every 12 weeks. Although if you have it this regularly over a long time it may start to lose its effectiveness. Therefore, it is good to have a bit more of a gap every now and again.
Will Botulinum toxin get rid of my wrinkles?
​
Successful treatment may not cause the expression lines themselves to disappear completely. Due to reduced movement in the muscles, lines may soften.
