Is it Painful?
No. There is no pain involved in this treatment. It is in fact very relaxing.

What are the contra-indications to Dermalux?
* Photosensitive Medications - e.g. retinoids and some antibiotics.
* Epilepsy triggered by light
* Certain auto-immune conditions such as Lupus or active cancers
* Recent eye surgery or serious eye disease
* Pregnancy - assessed on a case by case basis

What do the different lights do?
Blue Light - Calms irritation, Targets bacteria and improves skin clarity to improve blemish prone skin and reduce breakouts.​
Red Light - Stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, reduces redness and inflammation while boosting hydration resulting in smoother and firmer skin.
Near-Infrared Light - Supports healing from deeper in the tissues, accelerates cellular regeneration and supports circulation. This light also calms irritation, inflammation and pigmentation.

Both.
At Bonds Aesthetics you have the option of the Compact Lite in Clinic or renting the Flex to carry out the treatment in the comfort of your own home.

What can I expect during the treatment?
Before you decide you want to go ahead with the treatment you will be booked into a free consultation where we will discuss your past medical history, any allergies and pros and cons of the treatment.
Your face is cleansed so there are no products on you face. You will have safety goggles applied which need to stay on for the duration of the treatment session
After the light has finished your face is moisturised and if the treatment is carried out during the day SPF 50 will be applied.

What is the post treatment care?
* No downtime
* Wear SPF
* Avoid strong actives immediately after treatment but can restart after 24-48 hours

When can I wash may face after treatment?
You can wash your face straight after if required.
​
Can I wear makeup after the treatment?
Yes you can but it is recommended to wait 15-30 minutes after the treatment.
What side effects can I expect?
* Warm sensation or redness immediately after - this is due to the increase of circulation.
* Headache (this is rare)
